Teacher Tuesday - Kendra Hughes-Wintels
Did you know that after Miss Kendra traveled the world touring as an actor and as a dancer, she was the Artistic Director for a professional dance company in Toronto? That professional dance company was called "Kinetic Elements". Graduates of Ryerson and York University came to work with Miss Kendra under a collective, performing in different shows around Toronto. Miss Kendra choreographed and produced two full length contemporary dance shows for the Toronto Fringe Festival. For the last five years, she has been dedicated to the Niagara Region and focused on inspiring and sharing her love of dance with the next generation.
1. Tell us about one of your favourite dance moments in your past.
One great professional moment in my life was; being a big part of changing one little boy’s life when I was performing with Mad Science in Florida. I can make people happier through dance, I can reach them through storytelling. Miracles can happen and they do everyday.
2. If you could have one super power what would it be?
If I had one super power it would be the power to fly. I love to travel and I would like the freedom to go anywhere in the world!
3. What do you like to do for fun other than dance?
I love to read, and make other art. I knit, draw, write and more!
4. What was the first live concert you ever attended?
My first concert was in Toronto to watch the New Kids on the Block!
5. Coffee or tea?
Definitely coffee :)
Miss Kendra is looking forward to meeting all our new families this month at one of our many events. If you haven't signed up yet, message the office today! Make sure you follow up on Facebook or Instagram to keep up to date on all the news and happenings at Kinetic Elements Dance Inc!
